New Demo Available. Mechanic Updates and Level Design Progress
Today I have published a new demo that will include some levels of each new mechanic developed to date. Let me know any feedback you have (art/music/sound are placeholder). I'm particularly interested in knowing which levels are tedious or uninteresting, I have played them all so much it gets hard to see them with fresh eyes.
It's been a slow two weeks with my day job consuming most of my free time and I am just starting to get back into routine this weekend. I have started creating levels with multiple mechanics with mixed results, about half I consider good/very good and the other half I'll consider for rework/removal.
Most of my time this weekend unfortunately was consumed with getting the interaction of the ice and teleporter mechanic how I want it. It is a lot of effort for a relatively small amount of levels and so I was okay with my solution being a bit hacky. The mechanics code is due for a pretty significant clean up, but as I don't expect anymore major changes I am going to leave it and hope it doesn't come back to bite me. I really want to get to the stage where I am solely focused on level creation and polish and moving on to the next project first quarter next year.
